Registration for Summer Acoustic Music in the Pines
August 25 - August 30, 2024
This year’s Summer Acoustic Music in the Pines camp will open on Sunday, and end at noon on Friday.
The registration fee for this year’s camp is $650, which includes housing, bedding, all meals, and nightly snacks. If you wish, you can choose to pay a $50 nonrefundable deposit when you register, paying the balance later, but before you arrive at camp.
We do not make provisions for partial stays at SAM, and there is an additional charge if you desire a private room as a solo registrant or as a couple. Please note that we cannot guarantee that private rooms will be available – we won’t know about availability until we’ve completed registration.
We conduct registration for SAM on the Internet, using a using a web service called Ultracamp. It’s first come, first served, and we expect that about 80 registration slots will be made available on March 23rd. We’ll open a waiting list should all the available registration openings be filled.
Our recent (post-pandemic) experience with registration is that the camp fills up very quickly, so it’s best to act promptly once registration opens.
We register for SAM using an internet service called Ultracamp. Here is the internet link to this year’s SAM camp registration portal:

During registration, you’ll be able to choose a housing option. A limited number of “private housing” spaces may be available, and you’ll be able to choose that option during registration if desired; there’s an extra charge of $110/week per person for private housing, (“Private Housing” in this context means one person in a room in the venue’s South Lodge, or two people in a cabin side.) We won’t know if private housing will be available, or how many spaces will be available, until after registration is complete; if you choose this option, you’ll be notified later about its availability and billed separately if it is available.
Options for RV parking (no services) and tenting are also available as choices at registration.
We plan to again offer our time-tested SAM format — unstructured time to use as you please, with no scheduled events on the calendar. You can use your time at SAM to play with others or not, woodshed, compose, arrange, or simply catch up with life in a supportive, natural environment, with a lake, trees, and trails close at hand, and somebody else to do the cooking.
We’ll follow Washington State guidelines for Covid safety at SAM.
Pre-camp Covid testing will be required, with a full Covid protocol to be announced after registration.
A limited number of scholarships are available; if attendance at camp would create financial hardship for you, please write to this address to discuss options.
If you have a question about registration or any other aspect of the this year’s Summer Acoustic Music camp, please don’t hesitate to write to this address, and we’ll do our very best to provide an answer.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all in late August!
Cheers,
Mark
