Dear SAM friends,
This year’s Summer Acoustic Music in the Pines camp will open on Sunday, August 24th, at 3:00 PM, and end at noon on Friday, August 29th. The registration fee for this year’s camp is $675, which includes housing, bedding, all meals, and nightly snacks. If you wish, you can choose to pay a $50 nonrefundable deposit when you register and pay the balance later, but please complete your payment before you arrive at camp.
We register for SAM using an internet service called Ultracamp. Here is the internet link to this year’s SAM camp registration portal:
2025 SAM Ultracamp Registration Access
Though this link is active right now, SAM registration won’t be available until Saturday, March 29th, at 11 AM Pacific Daylight Savings Time. Until then, you can use this link to set up an Ultracamp account — you’ll need one to register on the 29th — update or establish a payment method, and validate your existing log-in credentials. We strongly recommend that you do these things before registration, so that you can register with a minimum of delay, trouble and fuss.
(One Ultracamp note: please do not try to log in to “ultracamp.com”, as that site is used for system admin logins only, and your login credentials won’t work.)
During registration, you’ll be able to choose a housing option. A limited number of “private housing” spaces may be available, and you’ll be able to choose that option during registration if desired; there’s an extra charge of $22/night per person for private housing, (“Private Housing” in this context means one person in a room in the venue’s South Lodge, or two people in a cabin side.) We won’t know if private housing will be available, or how many spaces will be available, until after registration is complete; if you choose this option, you’ll be notified later about its availability and billed separately if it is available.
Options for RV parking (no services) and tenting are also available as choices at registration.
We’ll again offer our time-tested SAM format — unstructured time to use as you please, with no scheduled events on the calendar. You can use your time at SAM to play with others or not, woodshed, compose, arrange, or simply catch up with life in a supportive, natural environment, with a lake, trees, and trails close at hand, and somebody else to do the cooking.
We’ll follow an Infectious Disease protocol for our safety at SAM, and pre-camp Covid testing will be required. More about this as camp approaches.
A limited number of scholarships are available; if attendance at camp would create financial hardship for you, please send email to this address to discuss options.
More details about SAM will be provided as the date for camp draws closer. If you have a question about registration or any other aspect of the this year’s Summer Acoustic Music camp, please don’t hesitate to write to this address, and we’ll do our very best to provide an answer.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all in late August!
Cheers,
Mark
