"Everyone loved SAM camp! The atmosphere was terrific, and thanks for making this a schedule-free event. It's a winner!" - Emily
"I wanted to officially congratulate you on organizing a very successful camp. I for one, had a great time... lots of time spent playing well within my comfort zone plus a lot of jamming with others on unfamiliar tunes and enough unclaimed time to woodshed on a few fingerstyle pieces. I met a lot of new people and really enjoyed the diversity of musical styles that were represented this week. It was a very satisfying musical experience for me all around, so many thanks to you for making it happen." - Craig
"It was great fun. Thank you very much for putting it together." - Julie
"Sandy and I had a wonderful time. It surpassed our expectations and I know it also did for the friends we brought. I'm glad to know it will be held the last week in August 2012 and want to help promote it wherever we are making music. Keep on pickin' and thanks again." - Jack and Sandy
"Hi Mark, Thanks again for organizing the great week." - Robert

“Summer Acoustic Music In The Pines was a wonderful experience. We were a group of campers with musical tastes and experience ranging from folk to bluegrass/country to swing to gypsy jazz, and I think almost all of us found time and space to make music together and listen to one another. I highly recommend this camp. Put it on your calendar. Tell your friends. Bring your friends. It's a great week!” - Carolyn
Here are a few links to other camps we like in the Pacific Northwest...
Music Heaven since 1974.
Even after 38 years, there is still no better way to learn music
than a week at the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop!
The Portland FolkMusic Society has been dedicated to promoting folk music and arts in the Portland area since 1976. PFS sponsors song circles, concerts, workshops, and retreats.
It feels like there's never enough time between classes at the summer sessions, so here's a set of events with nothing but time. No schedule, no classes, no hassle, no hurry.
American Banjo Camp
Spend a weekend away from the toil and cares of everyday life, with nothing to do but learn about the 5-string banjo from world-famous teachers, play in jams, eat delicious food, and possibly even sleep!
